Mark Reads ‘The Hunger Games’: Chapter 7 |

My slumbers are filled with disturbing dreams. The face of the redheaded girl intertwines with gory images from earlier Hunger Games, with my mother withdrawn and unreachable, with Prim emaciated and terrified. I bolt up screaming for my father to run as the mine explodes into a million deadly bits of light. Is it strange that I just came from a series of inexorable tragedy and this book seems to be part of the same mold? My mind wanders to my mother and Prim.

I couldn't quite translate it into words I love the chxpter that Katniss is a badass, but I'd appreciate more if Collins shows it to us through her actions rather than from other peoples words. Perhaps she's the one who projects arrogance. Chairman Wow says:. At the back of the book is a small section entitled "Katniss's Family Book of Herbs" describing some of the herbs Katniss surely gathered during her foraging trips outside the fence. I found it so hard not to just completely fall for Katniss.

Yet only Katniss gets hate for supposedly being like Bella Swan, which is just so ridiculous and enraging to me. They must be up. Wait until the Games begin. It's not worth their time.

Collins says she drew inspiration for the series from both classical and contemporary sources. Mocking. Her government is totally oppressive and cruel.

  1. The Hunger Games is a series of young adult dystopian novels written by American novelist Suzanne Collins. The novels have all been developed into films starring Jennifer Lawrence , with the film adaptation of Mockingjay split into two parts. The first two books in the series were both New York Times best sellers , and Mockingjay topped all US bestseller lists upon its release. 😥

  2. Also, Gregor! Doesn't seem too likely. Summary Rich in suspense and brimming with adventure, Rue seems really interesting so far. But Peeta has grown on me so much.

  3. Peeta and Katniss help Haymitch back to his room, and Peeta says that he can take care of cleaning him up. Katniss wonders if he's doing this out of kindness or if he just wants to get on Haymitch's good side. She decides that Peeta must know that Haymitch won't remember anything anyway, so he must be acting simply out of kindness, which is worse. 😆
